As we approach the end to what has been a very successful year of growth and enjoyment for us and for our eight-figure B2B clients, I thought I would share what I have learned over the last year and some ideas for you moving forward into 2020.

Prefer a video version of this post? We’ve got you covered! If you’re unsure if you’re ready to take the leap and hire an inbound marketing specialist, today’s post is for you!

  1. Slow down in order to accelerate.

Remember that acceleration can mean both change in magnitude and in direction. What does this mean for you moving forward into 2020?

Marketing and sales takes time. You need to establish a baseline, and I really believe in digging where you stand. But do you know where you stand? Do you really know what your reality looks like?

As you look at moving forward into 2020, really slow down in order to accelerate.

  1. Stand your ground.

Having an absolute conviction that the path that you are on is correct and that you are truly helping people is a fantastic feeling. Striving to be in your zone of genius is an amazing thing to really stand for.

Strive to thrive in your zone of genius, and keep things simple. Get help with things that are not your zone of genius. It is really important to be able to do things that you find easy and enjoyable and that will give you quick wins.

  1. Stay in your own lane.

Don’t let yourself be swayed by other people, or other competitors. Keep abreast of what is going on around you – but not too much. No one else is living your life and your business.

One of my absolute favourite comic idols, Phyllis Diller, said that she never looked at other comedians material because she didn’t want to copy anyone. I love that.

What does this mean for you moving forward into 2020? Hold onto your vision and use your stories. If you have awards, use them and be proud of them!  They’re doing no good sitting, collecting dust in your head, in your hard drive, or on a shelf.

Watch our space for some amazing and possibly unexpected things to come in 2020 – it will be an even more excellent year for us all!
